"Flash Light", "Sir Nose", et "Funkentelechy" sont fabuleuses. Cet album est absolument essentiel, au même titre que "Mothership connection". Parliament redevient ce groupe expérimental qui joue du funk éternellement en avance sur son temps. Bootsy, qui a lancé en paralelle (avec Clinton) le "Boosty's Rubber Band" (!) tient la basse sur quasiment tout l'album. D'ailleurs Bootsy ne voulait pas de "Flashlight", qu'il a laissé à George, sur son premier album. Dommage, ce sera un des plus grands succès de Parliament, à tel point qu'ils lancèrent leur propre marque de flashlights , allant jusqu'à en vendre 3000 par concert.
