rob wasserman and bob weir Le second guitariste du Dead (avec Garcia) Bob Weir avec l'ancien bassiste de Lou Reed Rob Wasserman pour un show acoustique très Deadesque enregistré à l'automne 1988, mis à part pour "Eternity" enregistrée avec Willie Dixon en 1992… Pour la petite histoire, la rencontre eu lieu au célèbre petit club 'The Sweetwater' (jetez donc une oreille sur les deux merveilles acoustic-jam-folk-blues "Live at sweetwater one & two" de Hot Tuna sortis en 1992…), un soir de 1987, au cours d'un concert de Willie Dixon, par hasard. Un an plus tard, Rob Wasserman invitait plusieurs musiciens dont Bob Weir pour un concert de charité. Après s'être retrouvés juste avant le concert et avoir répété pendant 20 minutes, ils jammèrent quasiment toute la nuit, se faisant tellement plaisir, qu'ils décidèrent de partir en tournée en duo et cela dura 5 ans. Ensuite ils ajoutèrent un batteur et forment depuis ensemble un groupe qui s'appelle Ratdog (mais c'est une autre histoire). Voici donc quelques extraits de cette fabuleuse jam session, avec en particulier un incroyable "Easy to slip" où, comme son titre l'indique, Bob Weir joue parfaitement le décalage autour du rythme de basse, en avant et en arrière, calé puis glissant, revenant sur le temps puis en retard… 'It's so easy to slip…' Tout l'album est fabuleux, alors avis aux fans du Dead qui apprécient particulièrement les sets acoustiques de Hot Tuna : ce disque est pour vous.
