KVHW ne sont plus. Steve Kimock (guitare), Bobby Vega (basse), Alan Hertz (batterie) et Ray White (guitare rythmique, voix) ne jouent plus tous ensemble. On ne sait exactement pourquoi mais c'est bien triste. Le premier album, live lui aussi, chroniqué il y a quelques mois dans ce magazine web, était déjà twès twès bon et nous faisait saliver de la bave couleur smarties aux bords des lèvres à l'idée de les voir prochainement sur scène. Et bien caramba encore raté! Ça commence à être lourd de n'avoir ancré dans notre culture l'esprit de la musique et du live, comme l'ont les ricains: nous, on a les fromages et Johnny... Dur... Heureusement nous avons réussi à mettre la main sur ce live, qui apparemment n'est toujours pas vraiment sorti. Il était disponible pendant quelques semaines sur la boutique du site jambase.com, mais celui-ci n'a plus de boutique actuellement. Le CD est donc aujourd'hui totalement introuvable partout, sans être encore vraiment sorti! Gageons le le Grateful Dead Online Store ou le Homegrown Music Network sauront remédier à cela, sachant qu'il n'y aura à priori aucune promo pour cet album, vu que le groupe s'est un peu évaporé... Dans le pire des cas si le disque ne sort jamais on fera des copies du nôtre!
Et oui, sans tellement plus de moyen que pour le live précédent, ce CD a un bien meilleur son. On y retrouve «Springwater», peut-être dans une meilleure version, plus longue en tous cas. C'est le seul morceau en commun aux deux albums. On y découvre aussi 2 reprises: une de Sly Stone («You're the one»), excellent instrumental dans l'esprit funk jazz soul, ainsi qu'un vieux tube soul 70's («Express yourself», rendu célèbre par NWA), mais avec le mélange kvhwien habituel guitare slide (ou pas)/jam San Francisco/jazz/funk soul/Jerry Garcia, avec le chanteur de Zappa en rab'. Vous avez compris? C'est tout simplement du son mortel avec en bonus une section ryhtmique de oufs: Bobby Vega, bassiste de Steve Kimock, de feu Zero et Alan Hertz. Le show enregistré ici est ultra-musical et il est finalement difficile d'en parler plus. Alors bonne recherche web ou envoyez-nous un CD vierge...
