Steve Kimock guitare, Rodney Holmes, batterie, Alphonso Johnson, Basse et Mitch Stein, guitare.
Et 5 morceaux de délice, rythmés, puis doux, on vole dans certains passages –l'intro de "Tangled hangers"– tant les musiciens vous détournent du climat final du morceau pour le mieux faire sentir. On n'arrive dans "Tangled hangers" qu'après plus de 5 minutes d'exploration exquise. Le morceau commence planant, on se croirait dans Pink Floyd, la basse et la batterie amènent un climat chaleureux, onctueux, posent le thème; puis viennent, incisives, les notes de guitare de Kimock et Stein... c'en est un régal. On voyage à chaque morceau, chaque instrument est maîtrisé, on vogue, le thème est bien sûr encore là, mais la visite est si prenante, toute possibilité de jam est exploitée avec un brio surprenant. Le 3ème morceau "Tangled hangers" est un monument (de 21mn10!). Ah, du grand, du grand!! Steve Kimock, ce son superbe, léger, ce toucher...!!! La jam au début du 4ème titre, tout pareil! Bien sûr, ça rappelle KVHW dont Djouls vous a déjà dit du bien, ce son de guitare, typique de l'excellent KVHW, la jam qui soudain cavale, puis on retrouve le thème et le morceau qui finit déjà...
Faites plaisir à votre cerveau; offrez-lui un pur moment de joie; ce disque vous apportera décontraction, calme, émerveillement . Et il est en vente libre, aux Etats-Unis. Aucune hésitation donc..
N.B.: Steve Kimock encourage l'enregistrement et la diffusion sur le net de ses concerts. 2 des morceaux du CD viennent d'un show actuellement diffusé; j'ai écouté ; je voudrais bien voir ça en France et en Europe. http://www.kimock.com
